1.1 Information you provide directly 

When you fill out our contact form, intake form, or schedule sessions, we may collect information such as your full name, email address, phone number, age, occupation, and a brief description of your concerns. You may choose to share as much or as little as you wish during initial contact. Only information necessary to provide ethical and safe therapeutic care will ever be requested.

Upon starting therapy, we may also collect payment information (processed securely through third-party payment platforms) and billing-related details.

1.2 Information created during therapy

Your therapist may take notes for continuity and reference in future sessions. However, these notes are confidential, stored securely, and are not accessible to anyone outside the therapist, unless required by law, or in the event of safety exceptions, or if the client requests the therapist to provide a brief summary to their current therapist in the event of a transfer.

2. How We Use Your Information

2.1 Providing and improving services

We use your information to respond to your queries, schedule and manage sessions, and understand your therapeutic needs, ensuring continuity of care and maintaining accurate records as required by ethical the APA's guidelines and the Mental Health Act (2017). ​

2.2 Safety, ethics, and legal compliance

All information you share will be confidential and kept with care. The information you share in therapy will remain confidential except in rare situations required by ethical guidelines, such as when there is a risk of harm to you or someone else, there is suspected abuse of a child, older adult or someone with vulnerability, or when a court order requires records. These limitations are also outlined in our consent form and will be discussed with you before starting therapy.

2.3 Third-party involvement

Raha Psychotherapy does not sell, rent, or share your data for advertising or marketing. Your information may be shared with third-party service providers only when necessary (for example: secure payment processors, encrypted video platforms). These services maintain their own privacy and security practices, and we encourage you to read them thoroughly.

3. Data deletion 

At any point in time, if you are uncomfortable and/or want to discontinue therapy with us, you may request for deletion of your data using our contact form. However, in certain cases, we may be legally or ethically obligated to retain specific records for a limited period (e.g. for safety, legal compliance, or financial documentation). After this period, your information will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

4. Cookies

Our website may use cookies to support basic functions such as maintaining the performance of the page and understanding our website engagement (anonymised).
